Description

Girls on the telephone were a signature set up for Bill Ward. This one is different as the girl is not in her boudoir and there is a man there. Frequently, the artists in these men's humor magazines would just send in the drawing and someone at the magazine would add the joke. The jokes for this one were both incredibly lame: “It was a whirlwind romance…tonight I hope to bring it to a climax!” “I hope he realizes that there is more to marriage than four legs on a bed!” The one I came up with is, "Hello cardiac ward, could you have a doctor standing by?"

This has a Humorama stamp and a notation "B-4-57" on the back as well as the jokes and Bill Ward's address stamp.
