DescriptionJohn Wayne 'The Duke' rendered by Sebastian Krüger in 1997 is an acrylic painting on art board measuring 100 X 65 cm. or 39 X 25 inches. This is a Holy Grail of early Krüger works! Krüger worked so intently on this piece that while working with a bristle brush, Krüger glanced at his hands and noticed the bristles had broken the skin, and his right thumb was bleeding, and he was splattering both paint and blood on the canvas. Krüger chuckled and said "This one has my DNA on it". A true early Krüger Masterpiece, 'The Duke' exudes the emotion of confidence and spreads it throughout the room.Social/Sharing |
