And that is the only way she would want it, to dominate a room and pummel you emotionally! LOL. It's powerful. ![]() Conny, you're absolutely right! That explains a true story about this painting: Bette was causing so much commotion to the visitors of her room, that I had to move her. I decided to hang her in a 5' wide hallway, thinking that people would have to stand too close to her for their eyes to focus properly. When I was moving Bette, she was noticeably upset. That night, at about 4 AM, I heard a thundering crash from my bedroom. I immediately jumped up to see what had happened. It turned out that Bette ripped herself and her 150 pound picture hook out of the wall (painting + frame were maybe 40 pounds). The following morning I re-hung her in the same spot, this time using a 150 pound wall anchor plus a 150 pound picture hook! Conny, your logic explains what happened: Bette enjoyed dominating her room, being the center of attention, and pummeling her visitors emotionally; and consequently was upset about being moved into a hallway! Thank you for your brilliant interpretation and insight. |

Can I assume the painting takes up an entire wall? ![]() Yes Paperback, it does. Incidentally, this is my only painting that causes its viewers (mostly, neither Krüger nor Stones fans) to involuntarily take out their cell phones, and start taking pictures. Often, I hear (through the grapevine) months later, that they're still talking about the painting; so kudos to Sebastian for a job well done! |

Incredible piece. The way those hands are rendered....absolute perfection. And that expression on her face...yeah, absolute Bette. ![]() Thank you Conny! In person this painting seems to defy reality. It begs the question, How can a human being create a work like this? You're right, Bette's hands and face are rendered in a way that's... (As you say, "absolute perfection"). What's also amazing about Bette, is how she dominates, or better yet, devours the room she's in. She demands your complete attention, and then pummels you emotionally. An impactful work! Thank you Conny, for your marvelous comment. |

wow, stunning piece!! ![]() Yes it is Max, thank you for noticing. In person this painting is so 3 dimensional, it seems like a hologram. If I had to visit a curator to request a museum show, this is the painting I would take, because; 1- it's small enough to fit under my arm (framed), and 2- either you see the genius in this painting or you're probably not perceptive of the genius in Sebastian Krüger's art. When I first brought this painting back from the framer, the lady riding in the elevator with me started freaking out over it. The lighting was poor (fluorescent) and the frame edges were wrapped, but that didn't curb her excitement, enthusiasm, and amazement. Thank you for your comment Max, you have a very keen eye! |

As a Stones fan since I was 10, and they're still the best rock band ever, this may very possibly be my favorite piece of illustration on CAF. Magnificent! ![]() Spoken like a true Stones fan! Rolling Stones fans the world over view Sebastian as the foremost Rolling Stones artist. Krüger spent 5 months on this monumental labor of love; that's 5 times longer than he's spent on any other painting, before or after. Sebastian put so much into this tribute to the band (he loves so much) that after its completion the artist had to take a 6 week sabbatical, where he flew off to the Northern California mountains to relax with no painting. After a few weeks he did sneak in a couple of drawings (tee hee). Thank you Paperback for your awesome comment! |

Bloody Amazing! Love the painting, Sebastian really captured the Stones. Congrats! ![]() Yes Brian, he did. Sebastian has spent many a night back stage with the Stones (over the years). Sebastian's long term familiarity with the Stones, combined with hyper-keen perception and requisite skill, is what allowed Krüger to capture the band members' true essence. Thank you for your lovely comment! |
