Description

Astonishing title splash page to a weird and obscure 8-page Ant-Man story (Armageddon on Avenue "A") which was published as a back-up in Iron Man #44 (1972). How it got in the book is anybody's guess. Maybe a Marvel inventory stock story? Was Tuska not able to keep up on his page count on the main Iron Man story? Only Uatu the Watcher knows. The splash recounts Ant-Man's career, but gets dissed by writer Roy Thomas who basically tells readers to blow off this page and move onto the main story, which starts on the next page. No respect for a fine piece of Andru/Esposito art. :)

Astonishing artwork! Andru's art often looked 3-D to me, and Esposito was a great inking partner for him. This is a fantastic example of their work.
