DescriptionRuss Heath is one of the giants of the comic industry and when I was offered a chance to get a commission from Russ (thank you Jim!!) I was thrilled. Russ and I talked and he told me he was a huge Reed Crandall fan so I present two versions of this OML. Russ did his piece in color to match the King Comics version but I later found out that the original was also published in black and white in the Spa Fon fanzine so I converted Russ's colors and made a b&w version as well (see below). Russ is great fun and a terrific artist at 88 years old.Social/Sharing |

Not to take anything away from your project or Russ Heath's OML, but this cover was ONLY a SPA FON cover - it was never a FLASH GORDON cover from KING or anyone else -- just given that trade dress to "juice" the sale of the original artwork.

Awesome commission, and I can't believe you go this one. Dale Arden appears to have lost some clothes in the OML -- looks like at 88, Mr. Heath is still a little saucy!

The legends line up to do commissions for Michael Finn, and this is the result. An awesome OML by an industry great.
