Nude by Pal Fried

Three weeks ago, I didn't know who Pal Fried was. I was at a local antique market and came across a painting that struck me. It was of a ballerina. When I asked about the price, it was quite significant. The dealer had auctions results to back up his pricing with some pieces going for over $15k. I like the art, but not that much but I was intrigued by the artist. He had a style that looked very much like that of the pulp artists of the 20's and 30's. I asked several times if he also did illustration art but was told he didn't, it was all fine art. So, I did some research. He is quite a well known and collected Hungarian artists famous for his portraiture works of women. I found this piece on ebay a few days later. Intersting piece, I think it is a combination of grease pencil, charcoal and graphite on a canvas like paper. It came in a nasty, vintage frame that was trying its best to quicken this arts decay but it has since been removed from the frame. I am still considering the other piece that is local but for now, I have a Pal Fried.
