DescriptionMy all-time favourite comic book cover!When I first saw this issue on the rack, I was convinced it was a computer enhanced image... the eerie lighting and three dimensional texturing were that breathtaking. Even today looking at the painting in hand, it's hard to tell that it's handcrafted with acrylic and gouache... Ken's exquisite use of airbrush and brush to blend colours truly results in a masterpiece of lighting and texture. Of course, this became my defining image of Venom, and I'm ecstatic to finally be able to admire the original painting on my wall everyday :) Social/Sharing |

Wow, this is spectacular! I agree that the paints are really done well. I wonder if there is a picture of the pencils floating around. Congrats!

Incredible! I love the '90s paintings so much, and this is awesome! Adam was killing it on the title and Steacy worked magic over Adam's fantastic layout! When 2 great tastes come together... :) Love it!

That cover made a lasting impact on my teenage brain. This is one of Venom most definitive representation to me as well. Really happy to learn that it's painted (especially that eerie lighting.) Congrats on an awesome piece, man!!!

What an amazing painting! I own the original pen and ink by Adam, and it's incredible to see the painting. Iconic. I still have my poster of this beauty. Huge congrats!

Kuber's imagery is great, but Steacy's colors take this to a whole different level.
