Description

Angel was one of the many teen mutants Grant Morrison introduced in his run on New X-Men, but she had a lot of focus than most. Angel's mutation was insect-based. She could sprout wings, vomited acid to digest her food, and later it turned out she could lay eggs that hatched after a few weeks. She started a relationship with Beak, another student who was in the Special Class, and they had a lot of kids. Their X-career sort of took a downside when they joined Magneto's new Brotherhood thinking it would make the world a better place for their children, but they rebelled against Erik when it became clear he was a danger to everyone around them.

After M-Day, Angel, Beak, and most of their kids lost their powers. The two ex-mutants joined a version of the New Warriors, where Angel became Tempest, and later they appeared in the Vengeance miniseries by Joe Casey (which introduced America Chavez).
