Being the inker on some of the best Asterix books and brother of creator Albert a wonderfull recreation of a part of the albumcover De ronde van Gallia.
About the author.

Marcel Uderzo is the younger brother of 'Asterix' creator Albert Uderzo. Born in Paris, he first worked in his father's guitar craft atelier. He switched to comics in the mid 1960s. As his brother's assistant, he inked the pages of three 'Tanguy et Laverdure' albums, an participated in the artwork of 16 'Astérix' albums between 1965 and 1979. By 1966 he was asked by the publishing house Dargaud to provide art for a series of 'Astérix' merchandise. He continued to do the inking of 'Tanguy' for Jijé until 1972, and remained the colorist of 'Astérix' until 1979.

Marcel Uderzo began his solo career in 1980. Between 1981 and 1985 he created three albums of the adventure comic 'Les Mémoires de Mathias' with writer Moloch (Michel Clatigny) for Éditions Delachaux et Niestlé. From 1982 to 1983 he and Moloch also made adaptations of the Gérard de Villiers novel 'Les Brigades Mondaines' for Livre Essor.

By 1987 he assumed a realistic drawing style and created the adventure comic 'Le Mort Rouge' with writers Migeat and Ughetto for Dargaud. Since the mid 1980s, he is the artist of a great many historical and military comics published by Fleurus ('L'Affut', 'Opération Esculape'), Novartis ('Les excès du sénateur Angorus'), Larousse ('La Grande Guerre', 'Les grandes batailles de l'histoire'), Mémoire d'Europe ('Roland Garos') and Connivence (a series of Jules Verne adaptations), as well as several advertising comics. He also drew several erotic comics under a pseudonym.
