Description

The Newlyweds and Their Baby, by George McManus, was the first successful comic strip which regularly featured a female character whose beauty was a draw for the strip. I've asked a couple of artists to do their versions of her. This one is by Eric Matos. The pose is uncharacteristic but it's definitely her. She has huge hair and big bumpers front and back. It seems we've gone full circle from the turn of the 20th century at least as far as the physical attributes are concerned. Back then, women wore switches to add to their natural hair and bustles to make their rears look bigger. We have those now, except we call the switches "hair extensions" and put the butt inhancers inside the butts.
