Description

Many collectors may associate Dale Keown with his powerful runs on The Incredible Hulk and his creator owned Pitt, but this has always been my Favorite Keown cover hands down! I was a Huge fan of the Original Planet of the Apes movies as a child and I was all over this comic book adaption when it hit the stands in 1989. I had always, in the back of my mind, kept an eye out for this cover but never came across it until I happened upon it one day on an art dealer's website. I negotiated in many back and forth emails for this piece and finally made it part of a larger deal when we met in person. I am Happy to add this to my Permanent collection!

What I liked so much about this cover from the day I saw it listed in the Previews so many years ago was seeing a one of the hottest contemporary artists of the time put his unique spin on a classic property! The Gorilla Soldier never looked so cool!

This one is pure Nostalgia for this Life Long Comic Book/ Sci Fi Fan!

I remember looking forward to this series too ! The picture of the cover in Previews enticed me to buy the comic book! Congratulations on a great cover

Wow!!!!! I remember this cover so fondly... like Leo, it made me want to buy this book. I had no idea Dale did this cover. Just a beautifully illustrated piece. Thank you for sharing, my friend, and congratulations!!!!!!
