Description

This is the colored version of a previous Nova fantasy cover I had posted recently by the Amazing Fraim Brothers. I used Photoshop for the stormy sky background and colors. Tried to stay true to the colors of the 70's here without adding too many effects. Novice attempt at best.

I think if there was only one artist(s) I could commission it would be Brendon and Brian Fraim. This piece is just amazing. From the classic look of Nova to the awesome alternate WWII Zemo costume,this one really stands out. Really love how they set up this side-to-side battle. Plus the Human Top looks incredible spinning like he is! This is the second cover of a two parter taking place in WWII. I had always wanted to use The Kid Commandos as they were a favorite of mine from the original Invaders comic.

Story so far: Nova has used Doctor Dooms time machine to travel to the moment in time his girlfriend Ginger Jaye was injured in a battle to prevent this from happening. Unfortunately the machine had taken Nova centuries back in time. He now attempts to get back to his own time but with each use the time machine becomes more and more unstable. He has found himself in WWII New Your City, arriving just in time to foil a plot by Zemo and his Original Masters of Evil to blow up the Empire State Building. Still badly beaten by the villains,they make their escape to make new plans to demoralize America.

Now: A bruised and battered Nova gets back to his feet just as a fireball lands in from of him. Thinking The Invaders are back from their trip to Africa,Nova turns to see a different group standing before him. He recognizes Bucky and what looks to be Toro the junior Human Torch,but is unsure who the other two are(The Human Top and Golden Girl). The Kid Commandos assume that Nova is part of Zemo's group(The had been tracking them for days),and a brief skirmish takes place,before Nova tells them that he is on their side.

The foursome(now a quintet),decide to work together to bring Zemo and The Masters to justice. Partnering once again with the local authorities the group is informed that the villains have been spotted on Ellis Island. Their next target must be The Statue of Liberty. Toro and Nova airlift the other youngsters to the Island and confront the Masters,who are once again hiding in plain sight. The battle which takes place is fierce,and Nova wants another crack at Master Man who has beaten him twice. The heroes are victorious,but the villains once again escape. This time in Teutonic Knights's personal airplane. Vanquished they decide to return home to Germany to help on the front lines. Bucky Thanks Nova,who reveals to them that he is a time traveler from the future. With all that these young heroes have seen that comes as no surprise. Nova explains that he must get back to his own time and once again set's the remote on Doom's time machine to the moment in time he hopes to finally return to. The platform appears,covers Nova and he is gone.

Is it that Nova's traveled into the past or have the folks from the past come to the present?
