Description

This is from 'The Royal Wedding' chapter of volume 4 (What is Above), published in Metal Hurlant 110 in 1985. In this page we see that John DiFool is very much a work in progress, and his first instinct when offered anything he wants is a selfish, hedonistic paradise. One of the great things about virtually all of Moebius work is the mix of drama and humor, which is on full display here. And sexy women!

[What follows was written years ago, long before I finally got a page of the Airtight Garage.] I always lusted after a page or two from The Airtight Garage, but in retrospect I think this collaboration with Jodorowsky might have been the peak of Moebius's science fiction work. Of course, the man hit such a high level so early, and stayed there so long, it's not hard to call almost anything he drew part of his peak period!

By the way, the scanner bed was a bit too narrow to get this all in one pass, so there's an odd seam on the right.
