"Magnus: Robot Fighter" has gone thru more reboots than most characters thru changes in ownership from Gold Key to Valiant to Acclaim to Dark Horse to Dynamite. I quite enjoyed this latest version where the world has been abandoned by an amalgam of nanite robots and humans. The remaining robots maintain society and grow humans from a few select templates. Magnus Russell, in this iteration, is one of a series of robot fighters brainwashed by the 1A artificial intelligence to disrupt the status quo. Uniquely, though, he can speak the robot language. In this page, he battles a robot nanite swarm in the old-fashioned way. In the next, though, he wins the fight by using his ability and commanding the swarm to ungroup.

I thought that the art by Cory Smith was pretty cool. I'm hoping that more, in time, will become available at reasonable prices.
