Ages of Obi-Wan

After being engulfed in Star Wars fare for the past few months I've decided to try my hand at both a new medium and new subject. Using a Manga sketchcard I have rendered a depiction of a young Obi-Wan Kenobi (played by Ewan MacGregor) and his friend-turned-enemy Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader, and to the right you have the Alec Guinness variant from the original trilogy and his fully-formed adversary. I made sure that there was an easy translation between two different actors by the gesture of him stroking his own beard in contemplation. Weird gesture but anyway. As for Vader, there's not much you can do with the black armored version; just draw the face and a lightsabre and there's your intimidation factor, but when you insert the cold darkness of space behind him, you convey the emptiness of the Dark Side of the Force. For Anakin, all I had to do was put him in the hood, give him the yellow-eyed glare, and the lava in the background as a foreshadowing of his inevitable fate. This will be the first of many Star Wars sketchcards I plan to do. I'll be putting this up for sale on Ebay.
