Tim did three versions of this before getting to the one he and Jeph Loeb could agree on. This was the first version-the published one pulls in much tighter on the couple at the alter, but this one has a lot more atmosphere in my (admittedly prejudiced) opinion. I bought it in pencil many years ago at San Diego and Tim later inked it for me as a commission piece. Though he was already using wash for most of his pieces, I asked him to ink it in the same manner as the comic book without the addition of wash tones.

This is a grail worthy piece for any Tim Sale or Batman fan....but if, like me, you're a fan of both....it makes you foam at the mouth

This is awesome! It's great to see alternate takes and get a glimpse into the creative process of great artists like Sale. Thanks for commissioning Tim to finish this so we all get to see what it would like like in it's final form.
