Karate Kid vs. Black Bolt by Sandy Jarrell

I've been a fan of Sandy Jarrell's art for a couple years now, ever since I saw his work in Batman '66. I've followed his work on into the excellent Meteor Men graphic novel and the ongoing Jungle Jim series, and Sandy never fails to impress. I recently asked Sandy to contribute to my "Karate Kid vs." collection and Sandy proved that he was an old school Legion fan by pointing out that he had a fan letter printed in Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes #214, which made me happy, because Legion fans are good people. Anyway, I gave Sandy a few opponents to choose from, and he went with the mighty Black Bolt, solemn leader of the Inhumans. And a very short time later, Sandy e-mailed me a scan of this gorgeous piece! I love the tones and the fighting poses that Sandy used. Big thanks to Sandy for knocking this one out of the park!

Blackagar Boltagon is mostly know for his powerful voice, but he is also quite the hand-to-hand combatant. Val Armorr has a good chance of defeating him as long as Blackagar doesn't use his voice, which he usually only uses as a last resort. But If Blackagar starts screaming, all bets are off and then I don't like Val's chances.
