Description
Tonight, I thought I'd post one of our earliest pulp paintings. This one is by Modest Stein, from the June 7, 1913 issue of The Cavalier, illustrating "Lucifer's Wife" by Eleanor M. Ingram. Stein had one of the longest careers in the pulps of any artist, starting in 1910 and continuing well into the 1940's when, among other pulps, he was doing covers for The Shadow.

Just posted my own Modest Stein piece and I'm so glad Kavi left a comment about there being other Stein pieces on CAF.  This is fantastic!
