Description

As several folks have posted, artist Jon Arfstrom passed away yesterday (December 2, 2015). With his passing, it really is the end of an era, as he was the last surviving Weird Tales pulp artist. I was glad to be able to talk to him a bit at this year's Pulpfest, where he seemed to have a very good time meeting and talking with fans of his art and the pulps.

We don't own any of his Weird Tales art, but we do own a few of his black and white illustrations from early in his career, primarily pieces he did for the fanzine Fantasy Advertiser, as well as a few for the digest Other Worlds. I thought I'd post two of them here. This one is from Other Worlds, October 1951, for "No Approach" by David Gordon, which I think was his first professional sale.
