Paul Smith Spirit/Rocketeer

I've followed The work of Paul Smith for many years. I first became aware of his work when he took over X-Men following the landmark John Byrne run. Paul held his own on the book, and even opened some wonderful new vistas for the team. While we have had not had enough Smith books in the years following, I've always sought out any project he contributes to. As a big Pulp and Rocketeer fan, I was thrilled to hear about his upcoming work on a book featuring those two stalwarts. Sadly, he was able to do only one issue of the series. That one issue, however, was full of pure Pulpy goodness? Both characters were rendered in faithful tribute to their creators. When this piece became available from Paul, I jumped at the chance to own it. Some great little vignettes featuring the leads. I love the way Paul captures The Spirit's clothing. Very much in the Eisner style.
