Sandman (Spider-Man) by Aaron Kuder

Love how this turned out! I always thought that Sandman would make a good character choice for Aaron's style, being a nice match for his particular line work. AND because he's done awesome renditions of offbeat characters, like creatures and aliens, in both his published work and past commissions. I'd say I was right!

Funny story. I set this commission up through Aaron's rep, Paolo at Cadence Comic Art, at C2E2 last year, and Aaron got it done shortly after the show was over. However, it was the wrong Sandman! He did Gaiman's Sandman, not Spidey Sandman. It actually turned out really nice, and I considered going with it, but I opted to stick with my original request. Paolo didn't have any trouble selling the other one. You can check out a pic here:

So Aaron completed my Sandman and I picked it up at the recent Magic City show. I like these characters where the artist can really put their unique spin on them. Love the grainy face here, and how big each arm is, and that one is sandy and the other rock/stone. The colors cap it off nicely. Very nice addition to my Spidey villain commissions collection - thanks, Paolo and Aaron!
