About the author
Enrique Badia Romero
(b. 24/4/1930, Spain)

Enrique Badia Romero launched the magazine Alex in 1953, after some earlier comic work in a Barcelona publication. Two years later, he founded the publishing house Ruiz Romero, for which he started the series 'Cromos', 'Hombres de Lucha' and 'Historia de la Guerra'. Later on, E. Badia Romero started contributing to the English publisher Fleetway, where he worked on the series 'Cathy and Wendy', 'Isometrics' and 'Cassius Clay'.

In 1970, he took over the famous espionage series 'Modesty Blaise' from Jim Holdaway. He continued the strip until 1978. Starting in 1976, he was also present in the French market with some episodes of Chéret's 'Rahan' in Pif Gadget. In 1978, Romero teamed up with Avenell to create the science-fiction series 'Axa', which appeared in The Sun. In 1987, he returned on the 'Modesty Blaise' strip again until the late 1990s.
