DescriptionI never should have bought that piece : I'm semi retired from the hobby, I have a (budget) rule of owning only 1 example for each of my favorite artists, it was clearly NFS, I only collect published pages, etc. There was no way I would try to get this piece ! Except... I completely fell for this one.As any dedicated/deranged comic art fan, I must see hundreds of pieces every month and this one totally blew me away. It had been years (and thousands of pages) since I had wanted a page that way. To me, it's one of the most beautiful paintings ever done by my favorite comic artist. And a perfect example of how he's able to give soul to a piece of paper. So, no : I wasn't going to try to pry it away from its owner. Of course not ! But maybe I could just send him an email to congratulate him... maybe I could just start a discussion... ;-) Flash forward a few weeks later and lots of discussions and patience : I could not be happier to own this piece, the one I never should have bought ! I could not dream of a more beautiful exception to all my rules :-) And I can't thank enough its previous owner, Emilien, who's been a 5 stars seller and an even better friend ! And a few months later, this image was used for the cover of Daredevil #7 (2015). Cool bonus ! Social/Sharing |
