DescriptionThis is an unused preliminary by artist Lloyd Birmingham, obviously intended for Analog, circa 1962. Birmingham was a prolific SF artist for a brief period between 1961 and 1964, primarily for the Ziff-Davis magazines, Amazing Stories and Fantastic. However, he did do two covers for Analog, appearing on the January and February 1962 issues. The story listed at the bottom of the piece did not, as far as I can tell, ever appear in Analog (if it did, both the author and title were changed), so perhaps this is something he worked up in 1961 to give the magazine an idea of what he could do, and he just made up the story title and author.Social/Sharing |
