Description

As a part of working out plots for the Crusaders All-New Adventures covers I, as all good geeks do, started compiling lists of all Archie's super heroes. You wouldn't know it by looking at the 80's or any of the newer series but they actually have a whole mess of characters. Once I started to play around with the idea of another series to spotlight Archie's smaller heroes the concept of a team-up series made a lot of sense. Since the Jaguar's secret identity has him traveling the world as an archaeologist it seemed a perfect fit.

Emmanuel Javier is a great artist I stumbled across over on deviantArt. I'd wanted to get something from him for the longest time but he was always busy. When he did open up his commission list and he and I started talking the whole thing ended up with Emmanuel agreeing to do a series of covers, like David Bednarski did.

Just like all the covers Emmanuel did for me this last one if full of the intricate detail that makes his stuff so great. He took the general horror idea of this one and just ran with it. As this was the last of the Team-Up's I thought it be fun to end with a story mixing up various eras. From the 60's comes the Jaguar. The 70's gives us the Spiderwomen. And the 80's gives us the Druid and the original(!) Jaguar. Chris came through again here, as he always does. He dropped everything perfectly in place. Gets extra points for that double Jaguar logo too.

Most importantly, will there be something else to take Team-Up's place in the rotation ... ? As always, I hope Crusaders fans approve :)

In This Issue ...

When the sorcerous Druid's attempts to reach into the earth's dark past goes awry he brings forth - one of the Spiderwomen of ancient lore! The mysterious creature, borne of both science and sorcery, attacks her host! When his attempt to send her back also fails and instead he brings the original Jaguar to the present day he knows he's in trouble! Sensing the presence of his ancestor the Jaguar takes off to find her. But will the combined might of the Jaguar's be enough to stop the twin threat they face?

Nope. It was all Emmanuel. I think all I said was "Druid and the Spiderwoman menacing the Jaguars".
