I'm sure this was used for a book cover or some other illustration, there's just too much work for it to be anything less.

Grace, Roger and their daughter were cleaning out the barn (literally) and tossing any art that was considered too rough or not worth keeping. To make the cut, a piece had to get at least 2 of their votes. A couple pieces I saw were really rough so I can't imagine what they tossed. This particular piece made the cut. Actually it's awesome. Oh yeah... and the price too good to pass up.

The image area is roughly 6" x 14" on a much larger board.
