DescriptionAs a part of working out plots for the Crusaders All-New Adventures covers I started compiling lists of all Archie's super heroes. As all good geeks do. You never know it by looking at the 80's series or any of the newer ones but Archie actually has a whole mess of characters. So many so that even including as many as I could in the Crusaders there were still a number left. As the idea of the Crusaders' covers was to continue and "expand" the Archie universe it struck me that a companion series, like Marvel Spotlight, would be a perfect way to showcase all these other folks. Lots of bad series titles later the obvious hit me and Red Circle Spotlight it was.One of the things about the Crusadersverse is that it's really lacking in anything ~cosmic~! None of that great Lee/Kirby cosmic stuff. And then I read the issue of Mighty Comics with the Red Shadow. Forged from the very atoms of the universe(!) the Shadow had been created specifically to kill the Shield. And then he was gone. Just another one of many villains introduced and immediately written out. But that "very atoms of the universe" concept was too cool to pass up. So I knew he had to come back, more powerful than ever, as Archie's first real cosmic being. To have him run into Mister Midnight (Archie's Green Lantern / Silver Surfer) was an easy call. As always, I hope Crusaders fans approve :) The last of MC's covers for this series is hands down my favorite. Then again, the return of the Red Shadow is probably my favorite idea for this whole thing. The Shadow's face alone here is worth the price of entry. Based on The Ultimates: Cataclysm #2 MC goes all out on this one. A big thanks to him for a series of really, really great covers! And as always thanks to Chris for his superb lettering! Kevin, this is fantastic. Fascinating to watch the Archie superhero universe evolve under your creative guidance.

I would buy every issue that you have done covers for in this series! Your imagination is leap years ahead of anyone working for the Big 2 at the current time. Bravo for this series and a wonderful cover from MC! Fans are still expecting more by the way!! :)
