This is a Superman daily from 1958... and may well be the most "traded" of all the Swan Superman dailies I am aware of. While many Swan Superman dailies remain buried in collections, I know of this one having been bought and sold at least five times. This is strange since this strip has a nice portrait of Superman and a panel of the man of steel in action.

One resource gives this arc the title of the story arc "The Imposter from the Year 3004"(strips 5979-6032 running 10 February 1958 to 12 April 1958)). The story begins when Superman sees a TV broadcast from the year 3004 A.D. telling Superman that a criminal from the future known as XL9 had (will) escaped and traveled to the past to locate certain elements he needed to rule the world of 3004 A.D. His time-travel globe is seen in the first panel. the Superman strip was interesting in that it both re-told stories from the comics and allowed for others to be adapted to the comics later. A similar story appeared later that year as a cover-featured Superboy story in Adventure Comics #250 (July 1958) entitled "The Imposter from the Year 2958". That issue featured the story with a Swan-Kaye cover with the interior story drawn by John Sikela. However, if you think about it, they may have been drawn about the same time to appear in March as a comic strip and a July cover-dated comic.
