Description

The Dare2Draw booth was selling copies of their new anthology book and raising money to help out Steve Rude's son Brandon. I help out the D2D guys when I can and decided to make a donation just to help out. Earl offered to do a sketch for me, which I hadn't expected, and got this on the last page of my black sketchbook with the D2D sticker on it.

This is Sun Boy just before he was killed off during the FYL Legion era. Exposure to massive amounts of radiation turned Dirk into a perpetually burning living corpse until his lover Circe put him out his misery via a bullet to his head. I had just found the issue where Dirk was killed and thought this take was appropriately creepy enough for my horror theme.
