I love Jim's work and was lucky enough to get a very cool Hellboy head sketch from him a few years back at a Big Apple Con. At least twice since then I've passed by his table at cons but was too late to get onto his commission list.

In the last couple of years hes' been doing quicker head sketch type commissions which allows him to get more done and thus make more people happy.

I approached him on Friday about a sketch and even though he had a long list of names ahead of me, he took my name. I aksed for Spacegirl. He said that it was a bit obscure of a character to request and even said he himself had a sketch of the character by Travis.

At first he was a little reluctant to take on Travis's signature character, mentioning that he had never drawn her before, but though I said it was ok and up to him whether he might draw her, I assured him that I knew he would do a great job with the sketch.

And I was correct! With only 25 min left to the show on Sunday, he began work on Spacegirl and was done within time to even get a sketch in for a friend of mine.

When I first stopped by his table I asked if he could draw it on toned paper, which I supplied along with a white Primsacolor pencil for highlights.

Drawn on a sheet of 8.5 X 11 toned drawing paper.
