Description

This was another twitter request from Nelson, this time a Legends of the Dead Earth character.

Quetzal was Superboy of the planet Aztlan, a world modeled after Aztec civilization by a group of Earth tourists who'd been stranded on the planet due to a revolution going on in Earth. A metahuman named Sanson used his abilities to make the Earth people believe they were visited by the god Quetzalcoatl, who foretold he would bless one with tremendous power, in order to get them to build a new world for themselves. Sanson then pretended his powers were a gift from the supposed God, and Aztlan civilization was built around the idea of a Superman leading every generation.

Quetzal, the current Superboy (who was obviously modeled after Kon-El), overthrew the current Superman when it turned out he was a greedy and corrupt tyrant.
