Description

You are bidding on a cover art 'rough' by Kevin Eastman. When Kevin prepares to do an original cover he first does a series of roughs, or prelims, some of which are tighter than others. They are done on 8.5X11 paper. Some are used and published as covers and some are seemingly not used at the time. The art here is from publisher IDW's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/TMNT's "#61C" and Kevin notes on the bottom "Harold -frustrated- even the simply things go wrong at the moment". It is for his TMNT Retailer Incentive variant covers series (one of usually four possible cover options) that is only available to members of his Fan Club. This art has been used and published in color as a Retailer Incentive for TMNT#62. Kevin signed this art. The cover comes with a Kevin Eastman folder labeled with his signature logo. Kevin donated this item in 2016 to the non-profit Inkwell Awards. Additional thanks to Kevin's assistant Fiona Russell.

Kevin Eastman is an American comic book artist/writer, best known as the co-creator (with Peter Laird) of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and co-founder of Mirage Studios. He was the founder of Tundra Publishing (1990-1993) and the Words & Pictures Museum (1992-1999). Since 1992, Eastman has been the editor and he remains the publisher of the iconic adult comic magazine, HEAVY METAL. He's also the writer and artist for the current IDW series of TMNT, published since 2011.
