Gorgeous cover!! I've always loved this run of Batgirl. Damion Scott is a beast and I think Campanella is one of the most underrated inkers in comics. Hopefully this is the year I add a piece from this dynamic duo to my collection.

Wow!  If you're gonna have a Batgirl cover, I can't think of a better example.  Damion Scott is a real talent, and I am happy to be introduced to his work in this most excellent way.  I love your story of how you got hooked on the series via the Spidey connection, and that it was your first regularly collected DC title.  Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Paul! Yup, still love this piece for both the art itself (Damion Scott!) as well as the high personal nostalgia factor :) You mention Spidey, which I say is a total connection for me due to the dynamic/athletic nature of the character - but I just realized the all black costume also reminds me of my other favorite hero character in Black Panther! In both BP and Batgirl we got the all black costume that I love seeing rendered in OA! So I got a little Spidey and BP in there :) Not to downplay Batgirl at all, though, as she's a killer character and design in her own right!

This is definitely one of the best Batgirl covers in the series. Like you, I was pretty much 100% Marvel until I started reading Batgirl regularly (which then branched out to the rest of the Bat family at that time, thanks to her). I started with a later issue, though, and had to pick up a number of back issues to fill in my complete set. I really, really miss the original team on this book, but they had a great run, and the memories remain. I know you got it a few years ago, but congratulations!
