Description
Pleased to post this very special acquisition. Frazetta authority Doc Dave indicated to me that this sensational Doubleday original was framed and ALWAYS hung in Frank's studio. He said that Frank loved it and felt that the design and composition were in perfect visual balance. Frank was never willing to sell it. I'm pleased to have been able to acquire it from Heidi Frazetta with the help of Rob Pistella. Thanks also to Dave for generously sharing the historical background information. It is hanging with a lot of friends. Enjoy.

Maybe the most iconic Frazetta pen and ink piece? At least it's the one that jumps to mind for me when I think of Frazetta's pen and ink artwork. Truly magnificent--can't imagine what it must feel like to call this one "mine." Congrats!

What a phenomenal and iconic drawing... The composition is perfect, and so are the figures, the movement, the face of that beast, the inking, and everything else about it

This is one of the greatest Frazetta pen and ink illustrations. Don't know how I missed seeing this for so long. What a treasure!

Or, brush and ink, as the case may be.  Just spectacular!

This is actually more diluted brush than pen work, I'd say. Amazing.

May be Frank's greatest ink drawing of all, which is saying something.
