Only Gene the Dean could draw panels of hands opening doorknobs and make us beg for more! This page is just gorgeous... the inks, the framing and camera movement... pure Colan/Palmer goodness!

I think one of the things that made Gene's work on DD so compelling was that he made it believable. He had an amazing gift for storytelling and this is a great example of it. Congratulations!

Great page, Lee. Terrific composition in every panel – especially the bottom three: the hand on the doorknob, the opposite angle and foreshortening, and the killer POV through the crooked arm. Also: the backlighting and use of shadow on DD in the top-right panel! A beauty.

This is class comic art, intelligently composed and staged, and beautifully executed. Colan and Palmer were an amazing pairing.

Beautiful example of Colan's storytelling genius. The nuances and little touches everywhere are terrific as well. I completely agree with an earlier comment that one thing that made Colan stand out was his ability to make nearly anything Stan Lee could dream up seem credible.
