Description
Definitive Batman page by Norm Breyfogle.
Love this version of Batman!

Batman: Shadow of the Bat #13 - "The Nobody"
- released by DC Comics on June 1, 1993.

Story synopsis:
Bruce Wayne is accosted in his office by a dying homeless man, who explains to him that he learned Bruce's secret identity by chance, and attempted to sell it off to a criminal. The plan backfired though, as he received nothing for his trouble, except for the injury which is killing him, and now seeks some small measure of redemption by warning Batman that his secret will be sold at an auction later.
As the man dies, he explains that he hoped selling the secret would make him a "somebody", and doesn't understand why Wayne, who is rich and famous and thus already a "somebody" in his eyes, would want to be Batman.
As Batman deals with the auction, he mulls over his answer.

Powerful, iconic page ! No wonder Batman is so sad (even more than his usual), as Breyfogle was just leaving DC for Malibu around that time...

Lol. Good point Gal. Breyfogle definitely left his mark on Batman and he was performing at his peak in the early '90s. Great era in Batman comics.

I've been trying for more than a day to come up with the right words to capture how I feel about this piece, and I am still at a loss. For many, Norm is a definitive Bat artist, who was sadly robbed due to health issues. Still, his work remains a testament to the greatness that can be achieved with the Bat
