Rene Cloke 1905-1995
Endpaper for the The Little Blue Engine Who Wanted a Drink by Ursula Hourihane (1953). A "Dinky book" published by juvenile Productions ltd, London.

Book contains 3 stories,
1) The Little Blue Engine Who wanted a Drink
2) The Little Blue Engine That Went to Market
3) Little Blue Engine That went for a Picnic.

Somewhat of a Thomas the tank Engine lookalike.. but marvellous colours, and Rupert the Bear countryside. Kind of odd activities for a steam engine.

The artwork doesn't have the shadow down the middle. I need to get a better scan and stitch done.
