Frank Springer Atlas Comics Cougar 2 Last page of the series

It was fun collecting Atlas Comics between 1974 and 1975. A shame the line didn’t last. Some great artists & some wild concepts that I’m surprised passed the Comic Code Authority (Morlock 2001?!) I liked the work Frank Springer did on Cougar (especially his girlfriend). This was the last page of issue #2. Holy cliffhanger, Batman! A wheelchair hero in #3 (the final panel promised “The most devastatingly different superhero of all time!”)?! We never found out. The company went belly-up & this was the last issue!

Anybody know what had been planned? A few years ago, the son of one of the publishers revived some of the Atlas characters under the At Last banner & there was an exhibit of unfinished artwork. Wonder if #3 was among them?
