I get as much out of these prelims as the finished pieces. I have vivid memories of buying Conan Saga (the reprint magazine; sorry, I'm only in my mid 30's), and loving the new covers, but almost being more excited at seeing the prelim drawings of that month's cover, plus the really rough draft of next month's cover! Some of those drawings conveyed more power and emotion than the finished product, so seeing this brought all that back. Great piece, many thanks for sharing!
