Grell is one of my favorite writer/artists and Warlord was one of my favorite titles to read. This is a great cover!

I had Mike on a panel I did at Dragon con and in preparation I read 30 plus issues of Warlord-and I sure remember this cool cover!

Terrific cover! Loved this series back in the day, and Grell is one of my fav creators to meet at Heroes etc. Thanks also for posting another amazing recreation from your formative years!

It's a great cover, of course, but I really like your recreation from your youth. I copied Grell a lot in my youth as well. One day my sister told me that my drawings were good, but if I was serious about it, I had to start drawing my own stuff, rather than copying others. So that's what I did. I knuckled down and starting working hard, went to school for my art, and today? I'm a Transportation Planner for DHL!
Quite the success story, eh?
