Description

I've said it before, I love what Tomasi and Gleason have done with Superman during DC rebirth. This image was initially used to introduce Gleason's new costume design following Superman Reborn and I instantly fell in love with it. It returned many of the classic suit elements and made the no trunks aspect palatable for once. Additionally it's my first solo Gleason piece. I have to say I rather preferred the original coloring of the promo piece as opposed to the final published cover. According to Pat, his intent for the coloring was the blue background and the darker color was an editorial decision, which they don't often let him know about before he sees it in print. I really hope they keep this design for the foreseeable future.

This is one of the, if not most, iconic images of the DC Rebirth era (which didn't last long enough). Very cool.
