Description

Here is a DRAMATIC storyboard featuring Superman (and briefly, The Flash) from the 1970's classic "SUPERFRIENDS"! It's by the legendary and amazing Alex Toth, and is rendered in conte crayon and marker on a 8.5 x 11 animation sheet. I've seen these storyboards here and there and am always amazed by the artwork. Toth laid them out in a dramatic fashion akin to the classic Fleischer Superman cartoons of the 1940's. When I was a lad "Superfriends" was campy, but it was basically all we had! Looking at these storyboards, there's a part of me that wishes the narrative and storytelling depicted here was more realized in the finished product. I'm really honored to add this piece to my collection. Adding original art from THE cartoon of your youth is what our hobby is all about.
