Do I love this page? Let me count the ways!! The team of Gil Kane and John Romita worked particularly well here; Kane’s dynamic and sometimes underrated layouts, combined with Romita’s lush finishes really make for an "inky" and very attractive page. Spider-Man #96 had no Comics Code and this was due to the memorable anti-drug storyline. I’m happy to have a page from the story. This page in particular lays out Spider-Man’s relationship with the quintessential villain of his, Green Goblin. The first panel re-creates Romita’s first Spider-Man cover, #39, and the fact that Kane pencilled it, makes the panel his homage to his inking partner for this issue. We see both Spider-Man in costume and with his mask off. Lastly, I bought this issue off the stands when I was a kid. I don’t usually buy nostalgia but I did here, because of all these factors combined. A home run page for me which will be framed and bowed before on a regular basis! And thanks, Mr. Burkey.

Stunning and significant page. I love the classic qualities of Romita pencils--but man did things get dynamic with Kane pencilling. Congrats!
