Description

Fantastic first year daily from the Cisco Kid by Jose Luis-Salinas. This strip features the lovely Silver Belle and her piano playing partner Ragtime.

The first two panels of this strip have patches over the word balloons, replacing Ragtime's original dialog. The original dialog was:

Original Panel 1: "Yes! Ha-Ha-Ha! Yes! Ho-Ho-Ho! Now he is a handsome hunk of corpse!"
Original Panel 2: "And now I'm going to pump lead into his dead body - yes, I am! Yes, I am!"

Revised Panel 1: "Yes, Yes! I got him ..."
Revised Panel 2: "... and now I'm going to make sure he's finished!"

King's Featured Syndicate must have felt that the original dialog was too over the top or morbid, thus the far tamer replacement text. Looking at Ragtime's expressions however, I have to say that the original dialog is far more appropriate to the image.
