Description

I'm a huge John Romita Jr. fan from his Spider-Man and X-Men days back in the '80's. This is a GREAT page from X-Men #185 with the Dire Wraiths!

A meeting between Storm and Rogue goes horribly wrong when Rogue is attacked by Gyrich's crew, who are packing some major heat--Forge's neutralizer.

When Rogue runs away from the X-Men, Storm finds her and tries to convince her that her place is with the X-Men. However, Henry Peter Gyrich has decided that Rogue is Public Enemy #1 and must be stopped. His solution: To use a device created by the mutant Forge that will strip away the powers of whoever it targets!

At the end Gyrich is about to use the gun at Rogue when Forge jump at him, and the blast hits Storm, stealing her powers away. The Dire Wraiths were watching this battle and tells Forge must die!

Also in this issue Rachel calls Scott Summers in Alaska where he is with Madelyne Pryor and then she talks to herself "Dad... Mom..."

Great page- JRJR really brings a sense of intense drama to a page that, in a lesser artist's hands, might have been dull and over-burdened with dialogue. It's also a GREAT rendition of the Dire Wraiths- creepy and alien and downright menacing! Hell of a cool classic X-Men page, congrats!
