DescriptionHey everybody! As many of you know, because of my mother’s heart surgery, I was pretty much out of the loop for the first half of this year. But now I’m ready to get back in the game so I’ve started to scan a bunch of stuff, some new, some old, and some VERY OLD. Haha! I think I probably have enough to update weekly for a while. So remember to check back from time to time.Anyway, let’s get started with a somewhat odd entry. For a while, many years back, I sort of dabbled in collecting animation. I’ve always loved animation and when I found out you could collect actual cels, well, that was pretty much all it took. Of course I was a lot younger then and naturally had a lot less money. So when I found out how much some of these things cost, well, that was pretty much all it took there too! Haha! So, one afternoon (a couple of years ago I think it was) I was sitting at work during some down time and decided to check the email alerts for my automatic eBay searches. Now, none of my auto searches are set up for animation. They’re either for specific artists or sellers, or specific keyword searches (set up with comic art in mind). That’s probably how this piece came up. As you can see from the certificate in the Additional Images, it’s from a cartoon called Droopy: Master Detective. When I clicked on it, I couldn’t stop laughing. More than likely I wasn’t having a great day, so of course I appreciated the chuckle. And when I saw the price, I just figured anything that gave me that much enjoyment was worth owning. So I bought it. Total impulse buy. Like I said, eBay is a very dangerous place. LOL Oh, I amost forgot. Another “special announcement” (LOL). With CAF increasing their upload capacity for Premium Gallery owners, I’ve decided to start updating most of my images with larger scans. It’s going to be a long, slow, process because a lot of stuff I have to re-scan (since most of the file copies I archived were designed to fit the old upload capacity). So make sure you check back regularly to visit your favorite piece and maybe see it in a whole new (and hopefully better) light. Anyway, it’s good to be back. Hope you all enjoy the odd variety of coming posts. Social/Sharing |

The larger scans are VERY impressive. As you know I've done a few myself, and my Nelson Aliens, looks phenomenal. I wish I had been as diligent about keeping my original scans as you, and since unlike you I frame the vast majority of my art, it's way to much trouble for my taste to rescan them; but I look forward to taking advantage of it for all of my future art purchases, as well as seeing other's collections in the improved quality! Definitely one of my favorite upgrades to CAF in recent years! I'm looking forward to seeing your coming posts, and so glad that your mom continues to recover!

I've been doing it since Day 1, starting with old school photocopies and now digitally. Just because a collection is posted online, doesn't mean nothing can happen to it. Or that having them framed is a guarantee they will be safe. You will always need the images if you have to reload online or for insurance if something happens to the originals. Plus if someone wants to borrow the image for publication. Scan and archive EVERYTHING! You never know when you'll need it.

But won't save scans of his incredible artwork. You are an enigma my friend. But I still luv ya!

Now that the "cloud" exists that won't happen again; but yeah I should have had 'em on a USB drive in addition to my main hard drive. ;)

I guess that means I should back up my USB with another USB. LOL!
