Drawing for a Publicity Still and for the Three Mouseketeers Good Housekeeping Page, 1936

It seems that this drawing was used for both the Good Housekeeping page as well as for a publicity still. We can be sure that this particular drawing was intended for use in making the Good Housekeeping page from the presence of registration lines [used in positioning the image on the page]. The two images only differ in the lack of the shadows under the figures in the still image. But, knowing how Tom Wood would usually produce separate drawings, even for very similar images used for more than one purpose, it is possible that he drew a second image without the shadows in connection with the publicity still. In this instance, however, it would have been incredibly silly to duplicate his own work when he, himself, was going to produce the final artwork for both the Good Housekeeping page and the inked publicity still.
