I was able to get onto Adi's pre-show commission list for this years NYCC.

From the submissions, Adi chose the characters he wanted to sketch, so I gave him three choices, hoping that would give me a better shot. Thankfully, he's a big fan of Mazinger and the other Soul Of Chogokin figures, which he told me he collects, so it was pretty awesome to have him draw my favorite giant robot!

9 x 12 on bristol.

SO. COOL. As a kid, I had the BIG vinyl toy of this from the old Shogun Warriors line! Never considered Adi drawing Mazinger- an inspired choice! Great piece by a true master of all things armored, congrats!

Thanks! I gave Adi a few choices of character and he went with Mazinger. Turns out he's a fan and collects the Soul of Chogokin die-cast toy line of which there are numerous versions of Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger. I've got a couple of those 24" Shogun Warriors as well! (In Japan they're called Jumbo Machinders). :)
