Spider-Man 2099 #17 - p9 (13)

The composition of this page is simpy awesome, as is often the case with Rick Leonardi.

The vertical panel on the left with the lettering that leads your eye to what Spidey is watching, "that idiot, Bloodsword."

The three panels on the right with the inserts on Spidey's head as we progressively dive in his realization that something fishy is afoot, and it's not Thor's hammer.

Not to mention the last two panels that form the same image (split in halves) to reinforce yet again Spidey's feeling of sinking realization of what is happening. "Vertical" reading being the operative word here.

And let's not forget the immensely talented Al Williamson at inking duties at the time and that Rick was amazed that Marvel had managed to have him ink his work.
