DescriptionThe perfectionist ethic at the Dan Dare factory in those days must have been crazy, these pages are so exquisitely rendered. Only panels 5-7 and 9 seem to have been executed on the actual board, first try. All the rest are pasted on OA, but not just pasted on: the top layer of board has been neatly removed and each new panel precisely inset so the whole page is flush to the surface.Formerly in the Al Williamson collection! Date is per Heritage description, which credited the artwork to Cornwell alone, but see Terry Doyle's comment. Social/Sharing |

Several artists contributed to this page. One of the reasons for the paste-ups. I doubt that Bruce Cornwell is the principle artist as he was more of a hardware specialist. Don Harley and, I think, Gerry Palmer are present here.
